Today, Representative Ben Franklin (IG-01) called on local leaders to expand access to education for our youth, especially for children of the gentry and working class.

Rep. Franklin published his innovations in “Proposals Relating to the Education of Youth,” which is now circulating among Philadelphia’s leading citizens. He plans to organize interested trustees to form an institution of higher education based on the proposals.

Rep. Franklin’s educational aims are to train young people for leadership in business, government, and public service.

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” said Rep. Franklin. “I think moreover, that talents for the education of youth are the gift of God; and that he on whom they are bestowed, whenever a way is opened for use of them, is as strongly called as if he heard a voice from heaven.”
